EditPad does not automatically encode & as & for ASCII+&html or ' as \' for VIQR. If you want the ASCII codes to appear literally, you have to escape them yourself. For VIQR, typing e' inserts those two ASCII characters, and EditPad will show é. When you type the the whole sequence will appear as é in EditPad. for ASCII+&html typing é inserts those 8 ASCII characters into the file. This works with files encoded in VIQR, ASCII+\uFFFF, ASCII+, ASCII+ and ASCII+&html. This will allow the next free minor updates of RegexBuddy, RegexMagic, and PowerGREP to select search matches in EditPad Lite 7, like they already can with EditPad Pro 6.
Nieuw in versie 7 is onder andere dat een hoop mogelijkheden die in versie 6 nog tot de Pro-versie toebehoorden, nu ook beschikbaar zijn in de Lite uitvoering. EditPad 7 is nog steeds gratis, maar bedrijven kunnen nu ook een licentie aanschaffen, als er geen behoefte is aan alle extra's die de Pro-versie biedt. Anders dan Kladblok kan EditPad Lite een onbeperkt aantal bestanden in hetzelfde scherm open hebben, heeft het geen limiet op de grootte van te openen bestanden en is het aantal undo's en redo's onbeperkt.

Dit programma is niet bedoeld voor programmeurs, die kunnen beter EditPad Pro of Notepad++ gebruiken, maar is meer een vervanger van het met Windows meegeleverde Kladblok. JGsoft heeft versie 7.0.0 van zijn gratis teksteditor EditPad Lite uitgebracht.
